Good, Easy, Pancake Recipe

Honestly, these are just really good pancakes that are just really easy to make. Just mix

the wet ingredients together and keeping them separate then mix the dry ingredients

together and keep them separate. Then mix them all together and fry, it’s magic.

This recipe gives you about five big pancakes, use spicebush syrup instead of maple

and add that to your arsenal of toppings.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 tbls granulated white sugar

  • 1 tbls baking powder

  • 2 tbls melted butter

  • ¾ cup milk

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 Un-measured splash of vanilla extract

Makes about 5 medium large pancakes, barely takes 30 minutes

Mise en Place:

- Mix or whisk flour, sugar, and baking powder together in a big bowl

- Mix melted butter, milk, egg, and vanilla in a different bowl

  • You will pour the liquid ingredients into the dry so you’ll want to put the dry

ingredients in a bowl big enough that you can mix everything in

Process:

  1. Mix wet ingredients into the dry ingredients in a slow steady stream mixing as

you go, (if it all accidently splashes in that’s fine, just mix it)

    a. Don’t overmix, some lumps are fine

  2. Heat your pan or griddle to medium high or 350F if you have a thermometer

  3. Once hot pour the batter in and let sit in the pan and cook until you see bubbles

along the edges and it looks dry, then flip and cook for another two – three-ish

    minutes

  4. Once done, take it out, pour in more batter and oil if needed, and keep going until

    the batter’s all gone!

  5. Put on some butter and pour some spicebush syrup over and enjoy!

P.S. The first pancakes always suck lol

Notes:

- Add in fruits as you want, vanilla was not measured

- Easy to scale up

- One recipe makes about 5 big pancakes

- If they’re burning but still raw on the inside, you’re using too high of a heat. Take

out the pancake, lower the temperature, and splash in some water. It’ll make a lot

of steam so step back, but it’ll drop the temperature of the pan quicker.

Personal Cup of Spicebush Lemonade

One of the best things during the summer is a cool up of lemonade, but one of my biggest problems is that the storebought lemonade is just never good enough. Or that a big batch is too much and it’ll
